Faculty Gratitude Reports

To cast a wider net for impact reporting during the Commit to Georgia campaign, our office began to collect thank you messages from chairs and professors who hold endowed positions across the university in 2017. Based on Scholarship Gratitude Reports, this holistic stewardship report reaches individuals and organizations with a personalized packet including a thank you message from all faculty impacted by that donor’s generosity. Nearly 100 faculty participated in 2017; since then, the number of faculty-supporting endowments has doubled.

Chair, Professor, Coach and Curator Gratitude Reports

Donor Relations and Stewardship works with UGA Foundation and Constituent-based development officers to update the list of named chairs and professors each year. After confirming this list with deans across campus, faculty who were awarded a chair or professorship receive a Qualtrics questionnaire that requests a thank you message, head shot, and additional photos that support the message. Like our more established Scholarship Gratitude Reports, collected responses are merged into personalized packet for each donor that showcases the positive impact that the endowment has made in teaching, research, and outreach over the last fiscal year. This annual touch each summer strengthens trust that the university and the chair or professor are spending the gift with the donor’s intent in mind. Chairs and professors are prestigious awards, and donors who support these funds have given at the major and principle gift level. Our office takes great care to insure that these most generous donors receive stewardship that is meaningful and reflective of their philanthropy. Donors who have established or represent more than one faculty fund receive all of their messages in the same packet. This holistic reporting shows our most transformational donors their positive impact campus-wide.
