Presidents Club

Beginning in 1973 and named to honor the past leadership of the University of Georgia, Presidents Club recognizes donors whose annual gifts total $1,500 or more. Annual recognition is based on UGA’s fiscal year (July-June) and is renewable.  Presidents Club is our longest-standing stewardship tradition. Membership grows at a steady pace, requiring an increase in the gift minimum to its current level in 2018. Members are engaged through a host of communications and a special event.

Qualifying Gifts

Recognition into Presidents Club is calculated by university-wide annual giving during the fiscal year (July 1-June 30) and does not include gifts made to Athletic Ticket Priority funds. Open pledge balances and documented planned gifts do not qualify donors for Presidents Club membership.

Stewardship

  • Acknowledgement – Reaching Presidents Club is acknowledged by a mailed welcome packet. This packet includes a message from the university’s president, information on the society, and a preference for anonymity.
  • Recognition – After the fiscal year closes, all members receive a special decal mailing that recognizes the total level of giving reached during the fiscal year. Members from the previous fiscal year are listed in the online Honor Roll of Donors unless anonymity was requested.
  • Engagement – Donors are invited to the Presidents Club Reception the following fall and receive seasonal stewardship messaging and the Presidents Club Newsletter during the current and following fiscal year.

Giving Levels

  • Presidents Club Bronze $1,500 – $4,999
  • Presidents Club Silver $5,000 – $9,999

Founding Presidents Club

Closed as of 1994

Founding members of the Presidents Club have a special lifetime distinction having joined in the first twenty years of the program. These individuals made a $10,000 total commitment and/or purchased a $25,000 life insurance policy naming UGA as the sole beneficiary. They are honored by having their names listed on the donor wall in the President’s Garden located on North Campus behind Old College.

Presidents Club stewardship began in 1973.
